I learned a bit about internally routed cables and the difficulties they pose. Went to install the new brakes, and couldn't get the hose out of the fork. Finally had to give in and take the bike to the shop.
Katching for the shop.

I stayed in Tucson last night, lightning was playing off in the distant hills as I drifted off to sleep. Then a little after midnight a loud CRACK disturbed my slumber, the storm was upon us. So I stayed up for an hour or so watching all the lightning strikes and listening to the rain and thunder. Luckily there was no flooding around here.

Anybody have experience with Bontrager Gel Cork bar tape?
I have to rewrap, and the tape that I've been using is now discontinued and unavailable anywhere.

I don't need bullet or bomb proof, just something that is kind to my dainty sensitive hands.
I was using the S-Wrap Roubaix tape made by Specialized, but alas it is no more. Really liked that stuff.

EDIT: I have two boxes of black S-Wrap Classic that I'd sell.

I've been a fan of SRAM tape for years. Then the price shot up beyond my comfort level. I will have to look into this Bontrager stuff, though I have a box or two, also, in the stock room. Some vintage cork tape.

Since others have weighed in with their preferences, I find this stuff to be fantastic. It is extremely grippy, and that does not change a bit even when the tape is soaking wet with rain or sweat. And it wears like iron.

I hear you. I prefer the other, too. I don't know where I got this.

5 of us started early today to try and get done before it got too hot. One of our usual Tuesday routes, 22 miles out to a little store, then back into a headwind. A friend who is too fast for us came along and seemed to enjoy the ride. He kept complimenting my riding. He's done that and bought me snacks since I worked on his bike once a few months ago up in the hills. I guess I don't mind.

I need to re-wrap my bars too. While on my million degree solo century Saturday I was sort of spacing out around mile 90 and whacked into a guardrail a couple of times. Tore up my bar tape and gave me some nice road rash on my elbow.

I kind of skidded along it, thankfully my superior handling skills prevented me from crashing.
I was reaching for some food and just not paying attention to where I was- was more like a high railing than a guard rail

Couldn’t come up with a reason not to. I had my bike at the shop anyways and they’re not all that expensive:
