Needed... glue, but not glue

I'll make a short story really long... Today while taking a break at the halfway point of my ride I was showing my buddies my new Canyon Di2. As we were looking at the rear derailleur, the grommet around the wire exits the chainstay was a little loose. As I pushed it back in (maybe 1/4 inch) something fell from the derailleur, a little plastic part. Once at home I found out the part is #3 (Stay Cable). It does not appear to be broken but it does not reinsert with any snap that would signify it was being held in place. I'm just thankful it fell of then while we were all looking at it because it surely could have dropped off on the road and I'd never have known anything was missing.

I need a "semi" permanent solution i.e. tacky but not glue, to hold it in place.

From what I can see in the picture - and your description, any flexible sealant should work to hold it in place: Silcone caulk, rubber cement etc ...
