Front Rack- Shock Fork?
While out riding today I stopped by an ebike store to chst with the fellow I know. He was looking at my rear rack that I built. So he was asking about a front rack for a shock fork.
Any thoughts on how to attach one? He wants to carry about 20#.
Thanks!

I thought about it a while ago. But then didn't get the project finished.
RST makes a monoshock fork that should be very much like a regular non-suspension fork, complete with a brake bridge bolt hole and dropout braze-ons.
A small rack might mount to V-Brake/Canti posts and up to the crossover bar. Probably easiest if you actually had posts plus disc brakes.
For a more traditional rack, and say 1" fork legs. Perhaps a tube that can be bolted around the fork legs, and then attach to the rack, then up to the crossover bar. It likely would be cleaner if you had V-Brakes or Cantis rather than discs, so not interfering with the discs.

What existing mounts are on the fork? If not pretty straight forward to design and make I might beg off this. Andy

Andy, there are no attachment points at all! My first and so far only thought is "P" clamps.
I will pass on this job and just keep riding!

My guess is the fork on that bike like that is essentially inop anyway. Probably should just replace it with a solid fork. I did that on a family member's hybrid and lost a few pounds of ugly. It's amazing how much those things weigh.
I want to mount a light on one of my suspension forks and I'm reluctant because of the mounts.

Don't use P-clamps but look at King Cage's website for his hose clamp mounts.

How about start with some photos of the fork and bike, model, size, brakes, etc, whether the owner is willing to replace with something more practical, etc.
