I hang most of my bikes upside-down from the garage rafters, over the bonnets of the cars, using bicycle storage hooks.
About 20 years ago, after the arrival of son #2, our 1400 sq ft house was starting to get a bit crowded. When I designed a 2-car garage addition, I took advantage of the gentle slope of the lot and had my remodeling contractor pour the slab a couple of inches below that of the house. Since the rooflines match exactly, I got a very valuable extra 2" of height in the garage. I then converted the original attached garage, which is right off the dining room, into a family room / music room / teen retreat / art studio.

Those are Delta Donatello racks. Delta makes a pretty extensive line of very "stylish" racks. The Donatello is most suited for display in my opinion since it is pretty lightweight. I also use the Delta Botticelli free standing 4 bike rack.

That is awesome. I rent about 3000' of "rotting wood" to keep my bikes out of the rain here in VT. I have an area put aside for a museum display and a few old bikes but I still have a way to go.
I think I won a race in Park City in the 90's. There is nothing like high-altitude pine forest and the best powder on the planet. I have some really fond memories of that town. I remember the beer was like water.
