A very early Rodriguez tandem has floated to the house o' 66. Phil hubs 48 and 36 on Wolber rims, Mafac canti, along with theTA crankset.

A roadside pick up a couple blocks from my house. It was leaning against a telephone pole along with a 90's Fisher aluminum MTB with a wonky suspension fork. I actually knocked on a few doors nearby and found the owner who obliged smilingly and gently nudged me to take the MTB as well. I respectfully declined, telling him it was only a matter of hours. Driving by the next day, it was indeed gone.
As found:
Happily, I had an almost new set of 2x8 6401 downtube shifters. The STI's are missing a couple parts each and have no hoods. They will be kept for future harvesting. I also had a pair of 6400 dual pivot calipers that replaced the partials seen hanging. The stem was missing it's tightening bolt, and truthfully, the bike is a 57 with a long top tube, so I found a generic 80mm to replace it. Got a set of new Conti 4000IIs 28mm (which barely fit under the rear brake) and Bob's your uncle!
Only small issue is a ding in the drive side seat stay and some light paint loss on the bottom of both seat stays.

WV is not flat..
Not a super score, but I will always save a solid Peugeot. I'm finding this to be a 74-76 UO8. Love to see original stickers. A Prince George's Co. bike registration from Dec. 31 1976. Surprisingly the Simplex derailleurs are not cracked yet and seat post and stem are not seized. It looks to have been gently used. Easily cleaned and tuned.

So I am usually looking at the newest ads (craigs, offerup, etc), as good deals tend to go fast. But, I forget how easy it is for a deal to get lost/buried in the listings. Recently saw a month plus old ad for a 91' Sirrus. Pretty sure I had inquired when it was new? Way too cheap to still be listed, but I reached out again anyway. Response: "yeah I still have it come and get it" All original parts, clean bike, now mine for a song. I might have to start looking at some of those older listings?

In FL helping a relative with storm cleanup. Found this Grand Jubile in a neighbor’s pile. A size too big unfortunately, but a nice looking bike. Frame is dirty but in great shape.

This was put out at a city wide garage sale event. Asked the guy about it and all he could say was he hated it, lol. Someone rebuilt it but didn't get everything correct. 93?

Don't give up on it so quickly. You might find some of the usual methods I of trust removal/conversion (Evapo-Rust, oxalic acid bath, Barkeeper's Friend, tin foil, ...) will spiff things up pretty well.

Once again not C & V but I had to share, 2006 TREK FX 7.5. Deore LX 3 X 9 drivetrain. This one fell in my lap, a truck pulled up and a guy got out and introduced himself, turns out I knew him years ago and went to school with his sister. He asked me to ID a bike that had been hanging in various family members garages over the years and had last landed in his, he was moving and wanted it gone. I told him what it was, he asked me if it was worth fixing up and would I be interested in it. I made him a LOW offer and he smiled and said it was mine, he was just happy to have it gone. It needs pedals, the shifters flushed out and lubed and a good cleaning but under the years of dust it looks to be in good shape. Tires are good, I aired them up and they still have mold flash down the center and no cracks. I took it for a test ride and except for the gummed up shifters it rode great. Just a hair on the small side for me though, a friend of mine has been looking for something along this line so if it fits him and he's interested I'll pass on my good fortune.
EDIT: Shifter flush was a success and it cleaned up pretty nicely. Just waiting for my friend to pick it up.

Saturday I dropped off a couple of pumps that were repaired to my co-op and this followed me home. I suspect it might wind up at Skip's house for bit of repair work. But an interesting frame design with a special tube dent as a special feature.
Bauer Frame and fork, decidedly a road frame with little space on the fork and stays for wider tires.
Looks like a better set of frame tubes with this special un-brazed feature on the seat stays.
Extra cool dent that maybe a set of frame blocks could massage out.

Looks to be late 90s by the complete 105 9spd group. 64cm x 62cm is actually ridable for me with 80mm of bb drop, but at the limit. It's almost certainly going to be a parts harvest as I had been looking at similar groupsets to upgrade another bike.
