FS: the last 27" touring wheelset you'll ever need

SOLD!!!

Suntour sealed bearing hubs.
40 spokes in the rear, 36 in the front.
Nice strong Araya rims. ETRTO 630. 27".
14ga stainless spokes.
Original reflectors

This wheelset is built to last. English freewheel threading. 126 spacing. Original Suntour quick releases. Some surface grime, but should clean up nicely just with a rag. Spin nice and true.

How's $100 plus actual shipping sound? Paypal F&F, Venmo, check, cash in an envelope, it's all good.

Nice wheels. Not in the market personally, just curious: hooked or hookless rims?

GLWS
Thanks

They look like non-hooked rims to me. There's a subtle bulge on the inside of the sidewall, but nothing I'd call a well-developed hook. More of a gentle bulge.

That said, I had the original tires pumped up to 80psi or so on them, IIRC, and they didn't blow off or anything.

Also, unrelated to your question, I have received other questions about the condition of the cups and cones. I will say this again, these are genuine sealed bearings, like Phil Wood or similar. They spin very nicely and smoothly! The only thing better about Phils than these is that Phil hubs had thicker axles that were more resistant to breakage. That said, I have never seen a broken axle on one of these old Suntour sealed hubs either. I think they are pretty great touring gear. The only rub is that they're 27".

Will fit them in a box, weigh, measure, and let you know! Hopefully tonight or tomorrow morning.

So if I hang these on a frame, then go on a tour, it’ll be the last tour I ever take?

If you hang my wheels on a frame and leave that at home, taking instead your bike with MA3 rims, you could make that happen.
Ask me how I know!!!

Fuji TSIV I picked up has 40h rear. Unfortunately the brake surface is badly scored especially in front.
