Truing stands
I would like to get a truing stand, are there any good ones that don't cost a lot. I will be using it on 26, 27 inch and 700c wheels , just for my own use so it will not be used a lot.

The Professional Guide to Wheel Building, by Roger Musson has complete DIY building information/diagrams, etc., which I built and have been using for many years with dozens of wheels built for the family. You can get a some what dated version today on Ebay (2005 I think) for $4 delivered, tremendous bargain.

The #1 aspect of a truing stand that I have settled on is being solid and not a flexible fixture. Being able to handle the needed axle designs and rim diameters is also a given. What is low on my list is any dishing claims. Andy

If you open yourself up to used truing stands.
The Park TS-2 is a good solid stand.
The Park TS-2.2 is virtually identical, but large enough that it can true 29er tires mounted.
So, if you are just doing road tires, you'll be fine with the TS-2. Then if you have MTB wheels, simply pop off the tire (which can be good anyway).

This style folding truing stand has been around for a while and has shown up in many different iterations/manufacturers. I have one from Minoura, this one is from Sunlite. They work well and are reasonably priced. You can probably find them used as well. (I'm selling mine now that I have a Park TS-2.2.)

Please tell us your cost ceiling. That will inform our recommendations.
I use the Bike Hand YC-512N. It's available direct from China, or from other on-line retailers. I also tracked down the rim guide centering tool for it.
I can't recall what I paid, maybe $125 plus an additional $30 for the centering guide. You don't need that part, as the stock stand will be perfectly fine for what you need.

This one looks pretty amazing for the money (€125). I might have to order one and try it out:
Looks well-made, and the disc-truing gauge and the included thru-axle adapter are very nice to have.
