I've owned this for a number of years. Full Campy with drillium. Except for a bit of deterioration on the chainstay chome it's in as new condition. Looking for a rough idea of value.

Good Morning and Welcome to the forums.

Any pics? What is the frame tubing? What brand components? You need 10 post before you can publish pic but you can upload some to your gallery and we can see them.

Thanks, I'll put some pictures on the gallery. Like most English bikes of the period it's Reynolds 531 - full Campagnolo Nouvo Record components. The chainrings are extensively drilled and detailed.

Hi,
When I go to "Albums/my pictures" the 8 photos I uploaded this morning are there. They're listed under '74 Sam Cotten. Maybe I don't understand some aspects of this forum. I'm new to it.

I've checked as well and no photos. appear. In fact I don't even see the option under OP's name for a photo album(??)

In the meantime, @Imbrooks you can add a maximum of 5 posts your first and 2nd day (anti-spam filter). After you add two today and 5 tomorrow you can add photos directly on your post. Why not check out a few threads and comment on the bikes and maybe add a few hellos on the "Community Connections" forum and you'll have all ten done

If that's original paint, I think you should be able to expect at least 1K. Having said that, there are some modern upgrades here and there that may turn off purists (modern brake shoes/pads, braided brake cable housings - and tho the Kashimax saddle looks sorta period, it's not a Cinelli/3ttt/Brooks/Ideale), but others would be okay with. But, please, I implore you to find and install a pair of pedal dustcaps, pronto!

Beautiful bike

So, I guess most viewers know that many, most or all of Sam Cotten's frames were made by Bill Hurlow? Sam was/is? an actor living in the LA area but was friends with WBH. I have heard he made frames himself, but everything I have seen look like Hurlow made them...
So, if this topic bike were a Hurlow and was so identified, it would have a very nice nice value. But Cottens are relatively unknown and low on a collectors' wish list.
An additional caveat is that this looks like it very well may be a repaint.
Here's the most prevalent version of Cotten decals (unlike this topic bike):
Eric Baker's Hurlow Cotten 5037
So for maximum $ return, parting out (!) would be necessary,
