Addiction 2021.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

lol@ fried nosebleed.
I often get pho with tripe but don't care for menudo so much.

Speaking of fried nosebleed...

Once at a pho joint in Vancouver the little lady went all out and got the Bún bò Huế, which includes cubes of congealed pork blood. I ate one of those cubes and I think that'll do for the rest of my entire life.

Had some blood sausage pizza in Dublin once. Maybe pepperoni next time.

There's a pretty broad range of cuisine in Italy - I'm sure that it wouldn't be too hard to find something objectionable.

Question - do virtual miles count and how do I eliminate them if not?

Everybody that logs a ride makes the leader board! Most log the majority of their males miles later in the week, though, with the week ending on Sunday, not Saturday.

Yes, they do. I think that making them private would exclude them from the leader board, but also think that nobody really cares.

Ah! THAT'S how it works! Yeah, my rides are Tu, W, F, and Su, with the big ride on Sundays.

(Actually not on THIS week's leader board, since I don't ride Mondays and didn't record the 11 miles I put in on the Circuit in the dying light of yesterday evening. I meant LAST week's leaders)

Yes, they do. I think that making them private would exclude them from the leader board, but also think that nobody really cares.
I feel better about including them now that I'm on a smart trainer vs just doing Zpower with a dumb trainer. I'm wondering how many virtual miles I'll be doing anyway, now that it's light enough after work to ride.

This is on Strava. There are two Addiction groups. One is an open group that most of us were in, but that some have left because of ride spammers and creepy lurker types - it sounds odd, but this thread and its participants can get some rather... off-putting attention at times and the idea of people having easy access to names, ride maps, schedules, photos, etc,... Uh yeah... nope. The other Addiction group is smaller and invite-only for this very reason. Hang out for a spell and remind us later.

Yeah, with the traditional Mon-Fri work schedule, it makes the most sense, from a physiological standpoint with regard to training load/stress, etc, to have the week end on Sun instead of Sat.

Tues and Thurs have been my nights for getting Zwifty after work for most of the past 15 months. More recently, I've been trying to exchange one of those for IRL rides. That said, the relentless nature of the trainer has been very good for re-building my fitness.

I've yet to record a ride this week. I'm trying to figure how to record rides on the Circuit without sullying its beauty with sensors. Probably just use the Strava app on my iPhone.
