Cannondale R500 Crest bike 63 cm(!). It's a Frankenbike; aftermarket saddle, 105 shifter crank, brakes, Mavic derailleurs, Mavic hubs and rims, Look pedals, Campy Chorus headset, original Nitto stem, Cinelli Giro handlebars. I think the original had white brake lever covers and white cable guides. I may get a Vetta blue saddle and put a new groupset on it, maybe a Microshift 9 if there's room. Touch up paint would be nice too. A steal at $200, I would think.

These are so garish...and I'm not a fan of white either...but I'm not sure I could resist if one showed up locally. So cool.

BTW check out the reach of that handlebar. That is one looong bike.

Here is a 1986 SM 700, sporting a 24”rear tire and a 26” front, picked up locally for cheap.

New tires and brake pads and it was good to go!

Not sure if I ever posted this one. A swapper offered it to me at the end of the day so I brought it home and packed it away. Pretty good shape except for the front fork. Pretty cool old school Cannondale rack.

I just started to do an errand bike conversion to my old Cannondale SM800. I remember my wife put it on layaway and gave it to me for one of my birthdays. I asked if she remember which birthday it was. She said my 39th. Wow I just turned 69 today so I’ve had the bike for 30 years! I believe it’s a 91, but I got it in 92. It’s been gathering dust in my basement for at least 20 years. I think it’ll make a great around town errand bike. I’ll remove the front shock and reinstall the original fork. I got new wheels from Velomine ( the old rims were dented) I also purchased some 26” Michelin street tires. Now to just get the block of time to strip it, polish it and put it back together.

I found an R600 relatively cheap locally (Dark purple to Black fade w/yellow lettering) and thinking of picking it up.

Not sure who this belongs to but it really inspired me to build one.

Wow, this brings back memories! It's definitely a '91 model. I haven't seen an orange and black SM800 in forever. My brother bought one in college and would let me ride it on occasionally. Unfortunately, it got stolen a few months later and he replaced it with an SE1000, which he still owns. All this Cannondaling eventually led to me buying an ST600 myself, which is still my daily commuter.

I was reluctant to post here because there are a lot of really nice Cannondales in this thread.
This is an 89 ST 600 that has toured extensively along the east coast and into Canada.
It has earned it's patina. I'm the third owner having acquired this from @BluesDaddy back in 2014 as a frame/fork.
Here it is in it's latest iteration, originally 27 inch wheelset and sidepulls.
I went with 700c, centerpulls with RSX 7speed and Shimano indexed barends.
What a comfortable all day rider.
I am no stranger to touring bikes owning a Trek 720 and Schwinn Voyageur and this Cannondale is no slouch.
Not pretty but it's got a beautiful ride.
Debating whether to have it powder coated and when, since I would hate to take it out of the rotation.

Black paint is easy to match on these (just did it to my '89 SR a few weeks ago) and they look good as new. Well, unless the decals have wear. Don't worry, these STs are good with or without paint.

Mystery paint-and-graphics 1989 Cannondale SR in the bonkers-looking (but I still think it's a looker!) 66cm size. Needs a 120mm stem to calm the very alert steering down, IMO. Actually rides well on these "32mm" Vittoria Corsas (measure 27.5mm on these MA40s) all things considered. RD operates a 14-28 cassette quite well. 177.5mm cranks for all the torque, but still with the super narrow stock bottom bracket spindle (sub-140mm Q-factor). Looooves some smooth concrete to rip around tight corners on--that's a lot of fun. A crit bike through and through.

Ok, small update aside from the saddle change (as I had had it for sale): 10mm longer stem, now 115mm/120mm and with a titanium quill wedge bolt! Savin' all that weight, haha. Phone with new camera, and a new background. The longer stem is perfect! Better looks, set a little lower than before, and really calms the steering while making the bike a natural climber out of the saddle. Just need to address an out of true large chainring. Keeping this one for a bit longer as it's a lot of fun.

Picked up what I think is a '97 Super V 700, Monday.
Mostly original, except for a "Island tattoo" paint job with no Cannondale logo or model.
What do you think? Repaint or Cannondale custom job? If it's aftermarket, somebody put a lot of time and money into a lower model bike!
