Not carbon titanium bikes, but regarding consumer level bikes for the masses
Was the used bike shortage less in 2021 than 2020?
Is there a shortage more in kids or adult bikes?

"consumer level"
I think you mean "consumable" level, as in try to use once, then throw away....

The Walmart I venture into has only had somewhat large stock since about July. Some weeks it is empty then the next week it is full, but overall , far more bikes the last half of 2021 than 2020.

Global trade infrastructure is not designed to handle this situation. Imagine being a ship captain for a living and your ship has to sit in a port for weeks.

Does the US have a bicycle shortage? Are companies double booking their orders? Does the US have the infrastructure and labor to distribute the goods being imported? Who started the trade war? Markets operate by supply and demand not tariffs. We don't know if we build the best stuff in the world.

The question was about "used bicycles" rather than new bicycles. I know bicycle rental shops in our area were not selling any used bikes because they could not get any new ones to replace the older ones in their rental fleets. However, new bicycles started to trickle in by late summer and now there are some used bikes available at nearby rental shops, and a few more new ones for sale as well.

- dont know what that means.
- yes at certain points in the supply chain. no at certain points in the supply chain.
- there is no singular point which started the trade war. also, which trade war? i assume you mean the US with China? perhaps it began when US-China trade increased in the 70s. perhaps it began when China entered the WTO in 2001. perhaps it it began when a Chinese manufacturer stole one too many bits of IP. perhaps it began with the 2018 tariffs imposed by the US. or perhaps, like i posted before, there is no singular point in which it began.
- the US does not build the best 'stuff' in the world. some things from the US could be viewed as the best built, I am sure. other things wouldnt be viewed as the best built. it totally depends on the item.
