Can't be too comfy riding solid 14" wheels. Limited to about 12 mph with reasonable cadence? More for mopeding it home from the train station, I guess.

I like folders, but not to carry around, so the small wheel size is no big deal, the lack of a derailleur is sad, and it's still heavier than any of our three DIY 20" folders.

120 mile range is a bit optimistic, maybe a 85 lb. rider with PAS going most of the way.

I have a similar micro folding ebike with 12" wheels, 400w motor, 48V, 20.5 Ah battery capacity.
But it's shaft-drive, basically a pedal (instead of hand-crank) generator for the battery.
3 level PAS, highest level PAS top speed is about 30kmh with full battery, get down to about 25 kmh when battery gets low.
I get about 85-90 miles with my 175 lb. and a saddlebag.
I haven't run the battery to empty though, maybe 120 miles is possible?

We complain about taxes in socal, but one benefit is smooth roads and a plethora of well maintained bike paths. I rode my 1500w rigid MTB 35 mph on both very comfortably. Probably the above at 24 or so mph would be fun too if there was want or need for a folder.

The tires are 14'' air filled, and the seat is squishy enough to be decently comfortable. It looks like a reasonable commuter that can be charged once a week, without worrying about it running out of juice. And I'd swap out the rear cog to get it to 15mph. The slower speed is no big deal IMO. Now, hit the throttle (after unlocking) and it's 20mph!

Roads by me are decent, but head out from my suburban area into the city and the roads are HORRIBLE!!!

Micro ebikes with 14" or 12" wheels are not particularly stable at higher speeds.
Smaller wheels & geometry on these micro ebikes are not meant for stable for high speed travels.
Suspension fork helps, but I wouldn't feel too safe riding them at 20+ mph; that's just IME of riding them.

I have no problem hitting 20+ mph on a 14" wheeled ebike, considering the fact that I ride an ecscooter that hits 21 mph with my 225lb body on it (wheel size is about 8.5"). There's even the emove roadrunner that has 14" wheels, and it hits 35mph. I'm cool with it.

There is quite a bit of difference when majority of the rider weight is on your feet (on your push scooter, at level of your wheel axles) vs at the level of your ebike seat (away from your wheel axles).

It's much more stable sitting than standing at higher speeds,... As someone who commutes via multi-model transportation, who uses an electric scooter almost daily nowadays, personally I'd prefer a larger wheeled escooter. As for the 14" wheeled ebike, it's a solid option when traveling via bus or train, and there's others around me.

I'm currently considering the Hiboy VE1 Pro. I'm just waiting for the reviews from a few people on YouTube that I trust. Those 16" wheels + 23mph top speed for the win!

Great picture. I'm thinking about one of the new "one-wheels", of the two types available now. Should be great fun for all at familypicnics in the park.

Again, stability at speed is highly dependent on the wheel size, wheelbase, geometry and weight distribution.
Personally, I wouldn't feel safe operating the 14" or 12" wheeled micro ebikes I have at speeds above 20 mph; maybe on smooth flat asphalt is fine,
but even going up and down ramps at curbs would require slowing the speed.

Larger wheels, longer wheelbase would make significant stability difference in comparison to the smaller e-scooter that you currently have.

Temporary fix for the lack of a thumb throttle,...I just need to finish my gearing mod, then install the attachment for the twist throttle (permanently attached).

Is that designated seating area for bicycle riders/commuters on the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road)?

For throttle lock, I use just rubber O-ring just to add friction to the throttle, on or off is 100% rider controlled.
Not a common practice, but I've been doing that on my motorcycle throttle for decades.

There's no designated area for bikes on the LIRR, but full sized bikes aren't allowed during peak hours. All folding bikes, as well as the TONS of electric scooters are allowed at any time. There are areas where the flip up seats provide a space for whatever, but they're actually handicapped/wheelchairs.

As far as the twist throttle is concerned I have bad carpal tunnel in my wrist, so I actually need either a true thumb throttle, OR a finger type throttle. This is as close I'll get without wiring mods, and I'm not going that route right now. I'm attatching the thumb throttle adatpter later this weekend. I'll post a pick when I do.

Do you like that seat?
I have a few of them in my garage, from misc micro folding ebikes that I have.
The nose of the seat seems to be too wide and the rear of the seat seems to be too narrow to decent support.

I use this bike as a seated scooter, so the seat is fantastic. If I had to actually pedal it'd be GONE! This is a no-exercise type of bike. Throttle gets me to 20mph, but pedal assist tops out around 13mph. The pedals are only good for a steep hill. The funny thing is, this bike is surprisingly powerful, so it goes up moderate inclunes with ease. I really don't need to use my own energy. And at 13mph max pedaling, it's too darn slow if I don't hit the throttle.

So, while out riding in my neighborhood, a police car turned directly in front of me (I had the green light, waited, and had the right of way). I hit the brakes to avoid hitting him, went OTB (over the bars), and incurred injuries. My Fiido L3 is a bit damaged, and I have a few fractures and contusions. Ugh,...it's been a rough 2 months. No more riding for awhile. 😢

tds, I'm sorry to hear and hope that you heal quickly. It'll be a dry period without your great photos. I've given up on street riding (unless it's necessary between trails, and then I ride on the sidewalk where possible) in an attempt to avoid being a hood ornament. Fortunately, my wife won't ride on the street, so all of our excursions (two or three a week) are on trails.
