Please Suggest Tire Source Besides BTD...

I've used Biketiresdirect since 2015. However, their selections have dwindled and they're out of stock on many items I seek.

Is there another reputable supplier of bike tires out there?

Thanks in advance!

Excel is often pretty good with special pricing (at least for road tires); not familiar with their offerings in other sizes.

Merlin.

just ordered 3 panaracers that no one stocked here in the US.UPS delivered in 3 days.save more on shipping by ordering more than 1 tire even though their price for 1 is about the same as a US dealer with shipping.https://www.merlincycles.com/en-us/r...e-tyres-75331/

Sports Basement, there are a couple down there.
AND they match online pricing before additionally applying their member discount.

Google. Just google whatever tire you want and click on a dozen results. Then compare.

I honestly dont know why there is loyalty to a specific online vendor when dozens of them are of equal quality for service/speed. I would much rather buy the specific tire I want from wherever has it for cheapest, versus buying whatever tire is closest to what I want from a specific vendor.

Your local shop probably has a good selection of tires or can order whatever you need.

I know nothing about Bike Closet but I know some reputable vendors have older internet services/software/practices that don't fit modern scam scanners. Also, some scammers use addresses very close to those of reputable vendors. So, no answers here but more research might find you either assurance that the site is valid or a different web address. If it is indeed a scam, come back and tell us.

Mine certainly do. They also cost nearly double what I can buy them for online.
It's a tough reality. Some find value in buying a commodity in person.
Some find value in having immediate availability.
Some find value in saving cost because they don't need the tires that day and they can easily install em.

You could say more than one way to peel a potato or carrot or apple or other similar fruit or vegetable. No need to harm cats or anyone else : )

Hey veganbikes, it's ok, buddy. I have volunteered in animal rescue for over 20 years, and currently foster and re-home cats. I own several cats (and dogs too) and treat them better than I treat my GF.
That's just a figure of speech... like "kill two birds with one stone," etc. I wouldn't ever think of killing a bird unless it was a game bird for my own food source.

Better than buying dead birds in the grocery store raised in little pens (livestock) just to be slaughtered for human consumption. Like God intended.

But, that's OK too...

This is quickly going to devolve but it really isn't OK. The language we use has a powerful impact on life and normalizing and making bad things OK is a huge problem. Yes it maybe an old expression but we have a lot of those that are problematic. The thing with animals as their voice is not one we can understand so we can easily ignore it and since they might not understand our language either they might not be able to stand up for themselves. Whereas if someone said the n-word someone would be able to say hey yeah don't say that. We can say other things, we don't need to say those things just because we said them in the past. We can be better humans.

Thou shalt not kill.

Anywho back to tires. What tires are you looking for?

FYI: Thou shalt not kill refers to the ending the life of another human.
I need fast racing tires that have a reflective sidewall. BTW, I spent the afternoon with goats, pigs, chickens, lamas and alpacas while contemplating how humans freak out on simple linguistic expressions.

My LBS's don't carry many tire choices. I buy my Marathon Plus tires from Chain Reaction because usually they are the best price there.. Downside is that $100 needs to be spent for free shipping.

Oh stop it! It’s a common expression, why are you making it an issue? Let’s just drop the nonsense and get back on topic.

Let's not talk about furries and litter boxes and just use google people.

https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=Bike+Tiresht

Once you have taken all of these hard steps to look for bike tires then select that little shopping button at the top.

BillyD asked for the subject of metaphorical harm to animals to be dropped upthread, so let's drop it, d'accord?

On the subject of the thread, you have to be very careful with whatever google comes up with nowadays because scammers have figured out how to use it to scam. Not everyone is sufficiently online to know which vendors are legit, so we are going to see this question asked occasionally. I don't see anything wrong with it, you can scroll on buy if you don't like it.

eBay has been my go-to for a while on bicycle tires. Feedback and transaction history have served me well as indicators of reputable businesses. Many are brick and mortar stores like the previously mentioned Planet Bike.

It may just be that time of year for biketiresdirect -- they'll probably be getting new stock in the next couple of months.

One other site to check would be universalcycles. Unfortunately, it's a bit less convenient to search than BTD.

To be fair, I didn't mention the expression nor mention my name. Common expression or not there is no need for it. I am happy to end the conversation though not a problem. Have a great night : )
