Continental Urban for Brompton

Continental Urban for Brompton
I’m using Schwalbe Marathon Plus on my Brompton for additional puncture protection, but as far as I onow these have pretty high rolling resistance and decreased comfort. Based on reviews Continental Contact Urban seems to be a good choice. Anyone uses these? Also what size do I need and is there different models or only on suitable for Brompton? Thanks.

Not a fan of Marathons for Brompton. I have had Contact Urban for about a year and so far so good and not even one flat. They relatively efficient for a tire with flat protection. They feel somewhat plush. My favorite tire for the Brompton was Primo, I was only able to find them without kevlar. They were faster and more plush than the Contacts, but I would wear them out too fast. I pump to 80 psi rear and 70 psi front.

There are now several types of Continental Contact Urban : first several colors of the side wall but much more important, also not only rigid, there are folding 35x349 Conti Contact Urban (only in 35x349, all other sizes only exists in rigid).
I also use them (wired, when I bought them, the folding didn't exists), they are excellent, the best rolling touring tires with a very god puncture protection. On top of that, they have a good grip, last long and are cheap (of course the folding are more expensive than the rigid).
Now, they do not have the thick puncture protection layer of the Marathon Plus, they are comparable for puncture protection to the Marathon Continental has several tires with a puncture protection layer similar.to the Marathon Plus also called "Plus" but not in ETRTO349).

I'm a little late but I went from Kojak to conti Contact urban in 32c and in theory, I gained 6 to 8w per tyres which practically feels much faster. and they are more comfortable than kojak.

The two tires, rigid and folding should be the same, the folding indeed can be folded what makes it easy to carry (as spare tire for instance) and it weight a little less. Brillantbikes in UK also sell the folding.

If one assumes small-diameter tires have the same construction and materials as their 700c make&model-mates, then this can be used as a relative guide for rolling resistance, traction, wear and flat protection:

Have just put them on today, took a few minutes to install. OMG aren’t they light compared to Marathon Pluses! I can literally feel the difference when lifting the bicycle. Couldn’t give them a spin as it’s raining now.
