Who needs a turkey?

We have all you can eat, here in Sacramento. All you have to do is catch'em, clean'em, & cook'em. 😁

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!!

I worked for 2 years ('81-'83) at Louis Rick Turkey products, I still won't eat turkey.

My (leisurely) encounter with a wild turkey. Early May. Vermont. Standing on my former riding partner's high kitchen porch, easily 15' above ground. Wood, kit built house that blended completely with the woods around. Below the porch was a bush that hadn't seen a touch of green yet. My friend kept telling me that a turkey hen was incubating her egg underneath. (A bush that was still just a collection of bare twigs and hid nothing.) I could not see it. After about 10 minutes of being told how she was oriented, where her head was ... I finally saw the turkey. She was huge. And what a disguise! Invisible in full sight at 15 feet.

The hen had been making that bush her maternity home for years.
