Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

And, here I thought the Brown Squirrel was a bar and we would be blessed with pictures of debauchery and such.

As I mentioned, I'm headed to PA to visit The Ancestral Home, and I look and danged if Adams County PA isn't in the 'Substantial Transmission" category for COVID, per the CDC. When we made plans for this get together a couple months ago, everything looked a lot better.

Then I look at San Mateo County CA. Damned if we aren't in the same category. Frakkin' unvaccinated.

I'm hoping that it will spike and drop, like it apparently has in the UK.

Thing is, Adams County is the heart of the 'Alabama' part of Pennyslvania, so there's low mask compliance and low vaccination rate. I suspect masks may stick out like sore thumbs.

On the plus side, I'm going to hang out with family, all of whom are vaccinated.

So you're saying that people in Pennsylvania, and people traveling from it, are virus superspreaders?

I guess it will be a 'rest week'. I tried looking into bike rentals near Gettysburg, but I didn't find anything. I suppose there's always Shanks' Mare. Maybe a battlefield walk.
datlas lives near Gettysburg. He'll lend you one.
