Invasion of the E-bikes!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fried bake, my point was that a 150 watt boost will make me or any A rider ride like a pro. ANY rider - B riders, C riders... will smash KOMs with a 150 watt boost. That is what B riders average (assuming 170 lbs) on a normal ride.

Though I don't ride century rides any longer, in the past 5 years or so I have completed over 75 of them. I never really "relished" or ever even thought of them as some kind of achievement, just a longer bike ride. So what if a cyclist passes me on a hill or anywhere for that matter, whether on a regular bicycle or an e-bike. I could not care less. There exists an "elitist" cycling culture that I want no part of.

Do you understand how this works? He's talking about going up hills. Hills are about w:kg. He's using an ebike that probably weighs 60 pounds. Yours is probably under 20.

Plus who the hell cares about Strava KOMs? If you want to race, enter a race and pin a number.

If all the bikers who felt like you would wear clown hats, we could instantly tell you apart from the rest who aren't concerned with such things. You could start a movement.

On a more serious note, do any of these E-bikes have jacks/ports for powering mobile electronics yet?

In keeping with my seething hatred for e-bikes, I am on the market for a steel fixie.

Already have my Copper Riveted Brooks B-17 ready.

I don’t hate e-bikes so much as the idea behind them.

Many ebikes have a substantial head light hard-wired to the main battery - some have tail light similarly wired.

If a mention of a morning among the ebikes results in 325+ responses, what's it going to be like when cabin fever REALLY sets in around here? Yikes, folks! Get on your bikes and ride! (If you have one)
