This is one of the things the Navy tried to beat into us or uh rather instill in us at Aviation Fundamental School, the correct fitting wrench for a bolt or nut should supply all the torque needed to properly tighten it. That doesn’t always apply to removing said nut or bolt

Got in some parts for m KHS build. Dura Ace logo'd bar end plugs and crankset dustcovers. Also a Profile Design stem that should work for my build.

These don't pop up too often in ebay in 90mm or smaller so as soon as I saw this one I snatched it up.

Today this one is back from the PC shop in Indy. Decals are here from Greg in OZ and will be the next project.

Super clean from the PC shop so clear coat will be on the steerer tube
Very nice joints on the fork crown very little run of the brass
It looks like I will be doing a bit of paint fill on the small parts but overall it came out pretty nice after some wicked exposure to Florida salt air. It will be a bit before it is ready for the final clear coat but I think it will be better than when it came into the shop. Smiles, MH

Once the War Department see these, I think you will be sleeping on the couch or in the shop this eve. Be sure to wear a cycling helmet for protection fro the rolling pin that will be acting as your wake-up call. My head and back hurt from just thinking about it.

This one is going to be up for sale as soon as it gets the decals and clear coat on them. It is 55cm and just a tad bit big for me, but the Ciocc is the one that may have me sleeping in the the shop. The Faggin snuck in under the radar and is gonna be a great rider here in central Indiana. Great to hear about Jade and her good fortune in education. I trust she is having a bit of light in the sunshine of acceptance to a prestigious school. Smiles, MH (who failed at retirement!)

SR Apex-5 Touring triple crankset with 50/40/30 rings in reasonable condition. As the pedal threads are 14 x 1.25 mm, the seller thoughtfully included a pair of French-threaded pedals.
And a pair of very scruffy-looking but otherwise functional Sachs 8-speed brifters. Should be interesting to see what the cable pull actually turns out to be.

From the many conflicting statements about these I have found on this forum and elsewhere it seems that there were at least two different versions wrt cable pull. My guess would be that since they were developed with Campagnolo, the earlier ones would be the Campagnolo compatible ones, and that the move to Shimano compatibility occurred sometime later. Perhaps when they switched to the black plastic shift levers?
Whatever these turn out to be, I am sure I'll have a job for them.
