The "Replacement" kitten arrived today.

I think it is a small male. Feral born, but is bonding to humans quickly, and was immediately litter trained the moment I got him home.

The kitten does have pretty blue eyes, but for some reason Latte's eyes looked blue when flashed, normally yellow.

Ok, so I've agreed to informally "foster" the kitten for a few weeks. Get him socialized, litter trained, etc. Then hopefully find him a good home.

prior to granting domicile to the recently arrived Schwinn Paramount of 1968 member bikemig sent a proxy inspector 'round to examine the goods.

in the first image the inspector is scrutininzing the Record model rear mech to verify that it is the correct G1 edition and is properly adjusted.

in the second view we see inspector checking that the Schrader valve stem on the rear round thing be not canted.

alignment checks on a Marchetti e Lange table were also conducted but no photos made...

That's how it starts . It sounds like the little fellow will do well no matter what, but be careful that you don't get attached yourself, or you will end up keeping him.

Maybe I will start fostering bicycles.. I doubt my wife would see the humor in that.

!

If that be the box they came in then they be clearly too large...even for galoshes.

Best to know someone's size before going 'round to the shoppes.

Nah, Felix is not a shoes man. Walks around in his socks all day ...

No, ... it's all about that box, 'bout that box, not trainers ...

The box fits him like a glove. He hasn't left it yet. Been over six hours now.

BTW, the trainers that were in it are actually cycling-related. A pair of Prooü "Sallanches" for mrs non-fixie:

"...and a gold star will be awarded to any yank who can correctly pronounce the name of these shoes..."

just think of what a wonderful tool this box can be for you in the future. if ever Felix insists on getting into something you don't want him getting into all you have to do is show him the box and then show him that you are placing it in another part of the house...

The first and second mouseketeers have been caught and adopted out. The second one looked very similar to the first, exept slightly larger and stronger, with an odd mix of blue and yellow in the eyes. Not really giving green, but more of a dual color to the eyes.

The third mouseketeer is still being evasive.

The first two really bonded to people quickly... except when I accidentally spilt some hot chocolate on the one kitten this morning and it headed straight towards the window. Very sweet kittens, perhaps a little sweeter than Latte, although perhaps I've forgotten her passing through kitten stage to adult stage. But, I also have treated them a bit differently. Because Latte found her way to my house all on her own, I've never locked her in, so she is a feral cat by day, and a house cat by night. These kittens were mostly kept indoors, or with me if outside.

As far as keeping them... I don't know. Latte never seemed to be really happy with the kittens added to the family. Kind of like a "big sister" that suddenly had a baby added to the family. Although, she seemed to be a bit more playful with the kitten today (top shelf of the bookshelf, swatting at the kitten on the 2nd shelf). Still a bit standoffish.

However, my goal was to have Latte for driving, bicycling, and travelling a bit. If the stay at home quarantines are ever lifted. And, for now, one cat seems to be more than plenty.

24 hours later ... nope ... still there. And judging by the look on his face he's not getting out any time soon.

I follow him. He found the cat as a kitten in the middle of nowhere. He has taken her with him through several countries. Getting through customs has been a challenge at times.

Latest addition to the Bottecchia household.

Her mom is a feral cat that decided to give birth in the backyard of one of my daughter’s friend. Who could resist this cute face.

We have not decided on a name yet.
