Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

they were good and lots of fans showed up for them. The college game day experience at FCS level is nice and still less corrupted by $. I said less, not uncorrupted.

I hate it when the commentators get too colorful, becomes annoying to listen to, especially when they’re trying to hype a mediocre matchup.

Tony Romo is amazing, but I still hold him a notch below Aikman.

I agree. I watched part of a game last week and I was not familiar with the announcers at all but I really liked them. The color man, an ex player, of course, had great insight and a lot of the things he said helped me see it from a player perspective.

One of the guys on today’s ride has new crabon fiber Winspace wheels that are getting rave reviews on YouTube etc. He is quite pleased with them.

I'm OK waiting at the light, as long as there's someone moving. When everyone at the intersection is waiting (because there's no one in the lane that has the green light), that's dumb, especially if you're on the main road. They program the lights so the side roads/left turning lane has far more green light time than they need.

Facepalms all around. The game had to be in the running for a record on number of times the training staff went out to see an "injured" player. We're talking soccer game-type injuries. It was like every other play. Both offenses go at full speed (the game had 180 plays) so that's how the defenses slowed things down.

In the last minute on forth down there was a controversial spotting. I don't know that the Tennessee player made the first down, but it certainly wasn't where they put the ball, even after looking at replay. Fans started throwing stuff. For over 20 minutes. The cheer leaders, dance team, and band all left the game.

TN got the ball back and still had a chance to win. The starting QB got hurt, so the backup came in and had two shots at the end zone from the 20. The last play he did this. Facepalm.

Is WhyFi East or West coast? If East, it looks like a blowout as of now. Even if West, looks like the West is NOT the best.

West, I'm quite sure, though he's close enough to ride on our friendly territory.

I like Aikman. I think it’s something about the sound and cadence of his voice and that he’s not flowery.
