Dawes model ID

Dawes headbadge, but no other markings to indicate model. Galaxy perhaps? Chrome socks on stays and fork, stamped dropouts and fork tips. Listed as a 1968 model
I suppose the derailleurs and chainset are replacements of Simplex, chromed steel originals...

at first impression was thinking Realmrider but then noticed there appears to be a tiny vestige of a Reynolds transfer there at the top of the seat tube so that would make it a Galaxy as you suggest, three tube 531 plain gauge

original chainset was Stronglight model 45

original gear ensemble Simplex Prestige

iirc original saddle a Wrights

original pedals likely Lyotard model 15A

original front QR skewer M.M. Atom

the other most common finish for them at this time was brown

occasionaly sightings of yellow and of white pass through...

---

spanner twisting tip -

Brampton HS has floating U-races and employs 1/8" balls; be ready to catch all the bits which will come tumbling out when you repack

My derailleurs were originally Simplex plastic.

Chuckk looks like a match! Nice bike. Do you know what year it is?
juvela sounds a lot like the Super Course. I don't think I'll get this one, however, due to size, location etc. Speaking of the RealmRider, there is a nice example on the Rochester NY CL at the moment:

Just looking at the post diameter and stamped rear dropouts, my thoughts went immdeiately to a Reynolds 531 plain aguge model, even before reading juvela's comments.
