Giant Escape 2 - Real or Fake
I am not an expert in Bikes. Due to the shortage of bicycles these days, I resorted to Facebook Market Place. I bought Giange Escape 2 for around US$450 which is reasonable for new brand new bike. But I started to get suspicious because the the colors don't seem to exist on Giant sites. Also there is writing in Chinese near the bottom of the bike. They had the box, but I didn't check content of box. They had other bikes. I can't post the picture as I am new member here. I found similar color on Couresel site

I doubt it's fake, but maybe a different market. Do the components match the US model? Your photo is of the wrong side so we can't see any components.
If you found it on carousell.sg, your seller may have imported a bunch and is selling locally.

Take the s/n into a Giant dealer and have them look it up or send an email to Giant customer service. Should be able to get someone to authenticate it if it is not fake.

It's an escape 2 if they are faking that they aren't very bright. The escape 2 was never a great bike to begin with so making a fake just seems silly. I get making a fake of a TCR or whatever other more "high end" Giant exists but an escape I would hope not. That would be rather sad.

If I understand your post, you haven't purchased the bike. If in doubt, move on.

See post 2 & 3--pic from OP's photo gallery and from Giant's China website are identical. OP said there was some Chinese writing near the bottom of the bike. Looks like someone imported some bikes meant for overseas sales.

If I can step in to defend the Escape 2...
I bought one a few years ago when I started back biking after an absence of ~25 years. It served me quite well to get started biking on the street. I have since moved on to legit road bikes but I still have the Escape and will take it out for a quick ride once in a while.
