150TSS between the warmup and the race. About 230TSS tomorrow between the warmup, race, and extra 2+hrs of Z2 after.

Saturday: full day on my feet at team bike swap. No time to ride until after. Figured two hours on the trainer would suck. 3x30 tempo with 1' of every 5 Z4. Somehow I crushed it instead. And myself, but in that f'yeah, that was a great workout kinda way. Then showered and rode 8 miles into the city to hang with my wife and friends for a bit.

And then I did this today. Capping a 15.5 hour training week in late February. Second biggest week on the bike of all time.

easy hour today.

weird training week coming up. taking friday and saturday off the bike to go to NYC for accepted students day at columbia (#humblebrag). gameplan is to try and put in more volume tue/wed/thurs/sun to make up for it as best as possible. Unfortunately this means waking up even freaking earlier. we'll see how that goes.

Took yesterday off. Felt good this morning so decided to test my FTP. 3.86w/kg. In December, I set the goal of getting back to 4.0w/kg by St. Patrick's Day. At the time it seemed like a stretch, but now I'm nearly there. I love it when a plan comes together!

I am very glad I am not the only one who had more than 300 TSS from that ride.

I am wrecked today from the double races yesterday. Just looked and the races, each 50 minutes, had NP of 390 and 380. #ridedumb

20 miles on pavement, 4.2 mile, 1700ft Forest Service road climb, secret-singletrack-with-9.5/10 pucker factor descent, 17 miles on pavement home. Very good power on the climb.

It's been a while since I thought I was going to die. That's what I get for self-shuttling (FS road is closed until April 1st) and riding the unsanctioned DH trails on an XC bike.

Solid Tmonk style week ahead:

M: off
T: 1.5 hrs with Shovelhd intervals
W 1.5hrs with ZeCanon intervals
Th: off
F: 1 hr EZ
S: 5 hrs surrounding the "A" ride. Will do Mt. Soledad (~15') at a solid z4 before and after the group portion
Su: off

I'm excited to try the ZCI's, I've never done them.

Was sleeping extra at Chico to fend away illness. Had a sore throat last night, but slept lots and felt good today. Plan on skipping riding tomorrow... so of course I hang out with a friend and play games til 12:45 am. We'll see if all is still well in the morning...

Once you get through the pain of the last one...

One of my favorite interval sets to do, although I don't do them all that often

I'm a hair over 4.0. Does that mean I'm almost as strong as @gsteinb**********

On a separate note, ZCI's:

The workout sticky says: 5-6x 5' at 103-108%, 1' RI between intervals. So what is it, 5 or 6? I'm not sure how many repetitions and at what % to go for on my first try.
