Sure, some are, Europe's not and it's still not discontinued in those markets.

Is there a 2022 listed in those markets?

Giant have taken away model years on some websites and we haven't seen any new bikes here in Korea yet, but they did recently remove the discontinued Expressway models from their local website, while leaving the Toughroad SLR.

Not so certain that Giant had this kind of usage in mind when selling this bike in the U.S.
I have to admit, there’s a side of me that just wants to clean up the crack, have my buddy TIG is, hit it with clear coat and keep on riding it!

I still have my TR SLR1 from 2016, done more than 10k km on it and still rides very nice. Just did a touring trip this summer on the Danube from Linz to Vienna with my wife and our two boys, 8 and 10, we rode 330+km in 6 days, wonderful times, great bike paths and very nice places to visit. I did change the handlebar to a A frame one and I love it for it's comfort.
Pictures are from other rides.

No, Giant covered the frame with their warranty!

The old black frame:

The top photo is one of my last rides with the old frame.

The new frame, which is silver.

I also decided to make the shakedown ride on the new frame worth while.

WOW! That is impressive not just that they covered you for a bike that was well used, but that they replaced it so quickly! I would have thought it was going to take months before they replaced this, but that was only 3 weeks.

That is really good to see Giant is this committed to their customers. Heh, I had read about my new bikes, Scott Bikes and they are not as committed. 3 yr frame warrants, 5 if the owners take the bikes to the shops annually for costly tune up.

Going to pay more attention on warranties with my next bikes!

EDIT: Oh and by the way, the silver is a nice color. In my opinion, you got a really good deal on this.

I have to admit, I’m surprised about the quick replacement too! It wasn’t quick enough to stop me from buying a Revolt Advanced!

The 2022 models have just been released, in Australia and at least one Asian market.

ToughRoad SLR (2022) | Giant Bicycles Australia (giant-bicycles.com)

The SLR1 is looking pretty good, but they're both quite nice.

Same bike as previous years just different colors.

Still no thru axles and no carbon option. I'd be all over that bike if it was available like that.

I’m kind of liking that green color on the SLR2’s frame…

I'm struggling to see the green?

Giant calls the colour "Metal" and it looks like a browny/grey colour to me.

Any wheel suggestions in 2023?

Ah and this bike is gorgeous, and an awesome ride! I'm glad I bought it after 7 years of hesitation

Question for y’all…..if you were going to buy a bike (29er) to replace the toughroad that you love ! ….which (non suspension bike) would be closest to the TR ?

If I had to buy a new 29er to replace the 2017 toughroad that I love, after weeks of extensive research, I've discovered that Giant still have 2023 models of them for sale and they are in stock. So I'd just buy another one, since that's the closest thing out there to my existing one

my homework shows not available in the US, unless that has changed? If it has, I’d buy another TR in a heartbeat.

thanks

I think it has been discontinued in the US, but in the EU it's still available.
For example this is a Hungarian LBS

In the US they released a dropbar model a few years ago, following local preferences I guess, and discontinued the flatbar model. Now it looks like the dropbar version is also discontinued in the US, but we are in a holding pattern at the moment, waiting for the 2024 models to drop. 2023 models have been thin on the ground in some places, with many places still struggling to get rid of their 2022 inventory. A mix of pandemic hangovers has seen the market in a bit of disarray lately. They struggled to properly spec 2023 models, as they were being made in 2021 (for release in late summer 2022) and now that 2024 models are due, even their old 2022-2023 stock is hanging around in some places, because of the late-post pandemic downturn.

There haven't been any toughroads in Korean stores for a long time, and I haven't seen the new Fastroad AR either. It's basically a flatbar revolt and it's what I'd be looking at if I was in the US and in the market for a toughroad. A carbon option with thru-axles exists as well.

No, it's a 700C rigid w/ 700x40c tires. The Fastroads have never been 650b/27.5. The Fastroad AR has a max tire size of 42c, so it's not a 29er, it's a flat bar all road bike.
