Grit and Flow

I am setting up, for the first time, an activity profile on my Garmin computer for MTB. The default data screens all include data points for "Grit" and "Flow". Are these things I would really want to know while I'm riding? Based on the descriptions on Garmin's web site, they seem like a curiosity, but maybe not terrible useful, but they are right at the top of the data screens. Are they more useful than I am grasping?
