Ahoy, Mates! From Maryland, USA.

Hello to All,
I had a mechanical quandry. And I decided that I should be part of an online bicycle forum, anyway, after thinking about it for...a while.

Long time ago, I learned how to assemble somtehing-that-vaguely-resembled a bike at Monkey Wards. Later, worked in a real shop. Also later, became a cyclo courier in Washington DC. And then, my stable sat for...a while. Over the years, though, I have ridden tens of thousands of miles. My courier days, a handful of centuries, one double, a little racing, and a bit of commuting. Hoping to get back into that last one. And then some club rides. I find it hard to just ride to ride. I need a "mission" or some company.

There is lotsa newer tech on bicycles than when I worked on/acquired my bikes. Not the biggest fan. Think: 6-speed cog, 27" tires. But as we know, a half decent bike is forever. As long as you can get parts.

I'll stop now. Thanks for being here, and allowing me to join.

Saul

Saul, you have a great background. I am gradually adapting to the "newer" stuff and like it when I understand it. And that sometimes takes longer than it should.

Host the Blue Peter and unmoor. Great adventure.
