Short of a few track events, cycling has an inherent air of attrition to it. I see that the Superclasico attrition has reached epic levels in our little league, only matched by the level of don'tgiveadamn in this thread. I wish we had something to talk about other than untimely departures.
Dirk de Chablis continues to make moves, earning a stage win at everybody's favorite race Eschborn-Frankfurt. I finished with the laughing bunch and MTBRider somehow managed to sign in and roll through the neutral zone. Everyone else slept in.
My league lead appears unassailable (famous last words). Overall, my poor showing at the line in Frankfurt dropped me out of the top 10%. Honestly, given how the attrition is going across the board, that's probably in the running for the maglia nera of people who are actually still entering stages.
I was working a race this last weekend and saw enough carnage in the men's novice and men's 3/4 races to last me for a while. Here's to a road championship without incident. Fingers crossed.

^ it seems it has been more than just one Sunday in hell for you.
If you wind up in an asylum in Germany, I'll come visit. They have some nice ones in Kansas, too, a little closer to Grain Brain.

Yes things have snuck up on me, but I have endeavored to make the men's RR! As I began to watch a little before the 100ish, I had enough fine to watch about 40 minutes, where I was treated to Sagan doing wheelies (pretty sure it was him?) and Powless sneaking up into the break with Politt and Remco!
I got spicy with my picks and chose Seneschal which netted 10th? I also got a wonderful text message from Powless thanking me for watching his fantastic winning sprint in San Sebastian against mohoric and honoré - but still not picking him!
Seriously, Powless looked incredible! Super, super excited to see that!
I just started to read the highlights, having missed watching the end of the race. I'll go back now and rewatch. What happened to Belgium!? You had Tim Declerq, Van Aert!!?? Not to mention Campaenarts, Stuyven, Evanpoel, Lampaert ... Benoot ...
... Can't wait to see how Alaphillipe did it. He said this year the Jersey has been heavy, I'm hoping now he'll loosen up a bit.
Here comes Roubaix!!!

What a worlds!
GrainBrain with a spirited showing in this stage. Cream of the crap by a huge margin in our little league, and well into the general population's top 1%. His performance in race 22 accounts for about 15% of his season tally. Which we should remember is a celebration of this race not any broader commentary.
I congratulate you and Neilson Powless thanks you.

solid showing by GrainBrain for sure. originally had wout and alaphilippe in the team with a buncha 4-pointers. have always preferred to play the underdogs
instead of the faves. likely explains the brutal personal showings over the years.
expecting this year's tdf parcours to be even more styled to the champ's strengths. actually okay with that since dude can sprint, climb, itt and classicfest in the top ten of all categories.

How long has it been since there was a sloppy wet Roubaix? This Sunday could be a high holy day.

I wonder if any men watched the women's race and are already completely psyched out? 2002 was the last wet session, where only 41 of 190 riders finished?
I didn't add Phillipsen, might regret that. Might switch it up still, I have three DQS guys. Hoping my long shot Swift does well!

Great women's race made more exciting with all those spills. Lizzie pretty much dominated most of it though.

thinking a big name goes on an epic breakaway and (barely) wins or we get a total "whozat?" (likely due to the usual p-r issues) winner.
still going with asgreen.

A beautiful race, I'll have to catch the last 80km I missed. I lament swapping out colbrelli and boivine ... but I like everyone else was highly dismissive of Colbrelli. You think I would've learned from the Tour!

What a race. I'm still catching up to the middle part. I may comment in the Roubaix thread when I catch up and catch my breath.
In the Superclasico league, a few ill-fated rider swaps cost my team dearly. I would have scored well had I left it alone. Instead, it looks like I finished only ahead of those teams who didn't enter and riders this time, and perhaps behind others who did.
canam73 sure is making a run of it. He crushed it today and is within another crush or two of the league lead. I think it is certainly within his ability to sprint for the top step as this long plod nears its end. I know it is within mine to snatch defeat from the jaw of victory.
The stages come fast and furious for the next few days.

Death takes a holiday at Coppa Bernocchi. Five more races over the next six days, then we can stick a fork in this sufferfest.

I was so jacked over my Paris Roubaix score that I didn't notice there was a race on Monday and had zero riders who were entered.
But that is probably not as embarrassing as getting my entries switched in time for this mornings race to come away with 62 points.

if george goes with the same superclasico format, it's gonna crash and corrupt my personal server.
really zoned out, more than usual, after the vuelta. some would argue the zoning compliance actually
occurred after paris-nice and it would be difficult to prove them wrong. still game to do the 2022 grand tours
with my rock paper scissors/abacus methods unless someone else wants to intercede and inject some new
jujubebopjazz into the affair(s). if george dials the superclasico back to just clasico, then probably.
