Vintage MTB brake levers.

Looking for non linear-pull/non V-brake levers with more leverage, probably achieved by longer levers.

Are Dia-Compe SS6 levers what you guys would recommend? Anything else? Thank you.

Sounds like you are looking for flat bar levers for cantis or Road calipers? AKA “short pull”? I know Shimano makes a set for pretty cheap (like $20) that I used for a flat bar conversion. They are marketed as flat bar road levers.

Have you Googled “brake levers” along with “canti”, “short pull” or “flat bar road”?

FYI: it is more than just the lever length that differentiates V-brake levers from canti/flar-bar-road levers.

Have you check the Velo Orange site? A lot of stuff is out of stock, but those arent real popular, so they may have something that will work for you.

These would be some of the best in the biz:
https://www.paulcomp.com/shop/compon...l/canti-lever/

Plus if you are doing a vintage style MTB, purple levers would set it off just right : )

Dia Compe had a few designations. If I recall correctly…

The PC (Power Control) series works with cantilever, centerpull, and road caliper brakes. So do the SS series.

The DP (Direct Pull) series works with linear/V brakes.

I’ve used PC-7 and PC-11 with cantis and side pulls for years. I like the longer lever.

I would think the SS-6 would work equally as well.

Ebay has been my go to source for older Dia Compe levers, along with just about everything else.
