My pads must be okay because the brakes stop quite well. I also lucked out when I found 8 NOS pads for them in a parts drawer at a bicycle shop in the city near me.

I like the looks and the function of the AX stuff.

Cheers from Miele Man

Decided to get rid of the aerobars and put on a different drop bar. Now I just need a rear rack and pannier then this pos will be worthy of a commuter.

^ Not enough clash in the themes and colors. You need a ridiculous bottle cage of some type to finish off the whole ensemble.

Even with the brooks saddle, that bike is most likely theft-proof. Congratulations!

Alright y'all. This is my first single speed bike.
It's a late 70's/early 80's Raleigh that I had my parents ship down to me from my grandparents garage. It's been hanging there for over 20 years. I used to ride it when I was younger. Stripped it down to the frame, which is in fabulous condition, and put all new components on it. Literally the only original pieces are the frame itself, and the seat post (which I just haven't replaced...yet). Learned how to put everything together myself. It was a lot of fun.
I built it for commuting to work, so it will get a rack soon. But right now, I love the way it turned out.
