Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I wish to say, in this safe space, that going from bottom of the line Ardennes to PRC 1400 Spline 35s was about as big a deal as going from a 22 lb. steel bike to the R3 and I have the numbers to prove it.

And of course, the irony is that right now I wish I had an excuse to go from an R2 to a 22lb steel bike.

How much of an excuse do you need?

Hot cut of the summer right here. Looks like the woodwinds are sight reading off of tablets (we're totally living in the future now). I'm dying to know what the screens look like!

That looks rather a lot like you getting fitter month over month and year over year. I don't see two "buckets" of time; I see times coming down every couple of weeks, outside of two exceptions.

But hey, enjoy the wheels! Toys are fun.

Family picture of the Studebaker knives.

This was taken by the smiths, but mine will be in my hands soon...

I was trying to remember what it’s called. Something related to trash must have stuck in my mind after hearing a friend having a trip and saying afterwards some unsavory words about it.

One does not typically get fitter year by year in one's 60s, but yeah, 2020 has been a little...special.

Sure, but why would two upgrades cause a steady increase in speed over time? If it was the R3 and the wheels, I would have expected there to be two distinct increases between plateaus. You're showing steady increases with two outliers (one outlier explained by wind).

No arks but a lot of flooding, washouts, etc. Five area tornados but I think damage was minor.

My final rain amount was 8.5” but I saw reports as high as 11”. Won’t have to water the grass for awhile.

You could certainly be right, but I think if I had the motivation to go back beyond the top 10 times, I could show you similar seasonal increases in fitness from lower, possibly decreasing, baselines in previous springs, but I'll take it whatever it is.
