Addiction 2022.3

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

at least you didn't have a run in with a snippy snarky woman biker that would question why you don't have this-or-that

FWIW, lately I've been in to medium roasts (but would have been considered a light roast, 'specially for espresso, a short time ago) of dry processed beans from moderate altitudes that are smooth, sweet and notably berry-forward.
I am aware that the lighter the roast the higher the caffeine, so this batch is semi-oscuro instead of the full monty. And I am aware the high elevation coffee does not agree with me. I am still motoring along on my single half-size cup from 8 this morning. Yesterday I had a second cup(instant) in the morning and had trouble getting to sleep last night.

Yes, I know all that second paragraph stuff. But RJones made it sound like they're pulling new varieties out of the air. There was a time when I had coffee growing out on the farm and I know it takes years to produce a single crop.

It's a new dawn, since that little debacle when I thought I was no longer addicted. It's been a long road back.

Geez! 93 miles and I'm only 9th on the Leaderboard. Y'all are taking this riding stuff much too seriously!

And tomorrow's supposed to be a hot one. My plan is to get out by 8 AM so I'm done before Noon, then take a siesta. We'll see how that works out.

Today I learned that the trunk of the Dodge WILL fit two bikes, but it would be a lot easier if both riders weren't over 5'10". One of the riders on the C&V ride was feeling a bit off, so I gave him a ride home. He had to lower his saddle, but once that was done, the second bike fit fine.

All you need to do is a nice 145.4 mile ride today, and it’s all yours.

We had a really good ride yesterday. Our “private” group seems to have blown up as friends of friends of friends are now showing up, but luckily everyone was a good and safe rider so it worked out great. I was the unofficial ride leader and was prepared to chew out anyone that pulled a doosh move, but it was all good in the end. We are now at the Jersey shore as mrs datlas loves the ocean. It’s not as bad as a baby shower, but I would rather just be riding my bike tbh.
