Triterium fun
This past Saturday I had the opportunity with a few others to try out a very cool concept that a fellow built out on his property. “Triterium”, basically a 25 minute long cardiac arrest. We did 300 yards in the pool, 3 miles (10 laps), on this awesome .3 mile twisty track, followed by a one mile run essentially as a time trial. By the time I got off the bike my heart was already racing at 180bpm and went up to 190 on the run, had to walk for a minute lol. Afterwards, we did an “eliminator”, 50 yards in the pool, one lap on the bike and about a half lap on the run. Also an amazing time. Hopefully I’ll have more pics at some point soon. I’m still feeling it, who knew that such a short event could take so much out of someone! His plan is to use the property as an Air B&B for training teams, events, etc. very cool place and looking forward to going back!

That looks like tons of fun! If I could swim, I’d like to try something like that. Not everyone wants to do endurance distances for a tri, amiright?
I did a short duathlon a few years ago: 5k run, 20k ride, and another 5k run. They’re holding it again later this month, except I think this time the second run is only 2500 meters. I’m looking forward to it.

I had heard of such super sprint distance events held usually at a golf course clubhouse where it's a pool swim and super short semi-closed course bike in the neighborhood and the run...........but not an abandoned mansion purchased and purposed for such a thing.

That's interesting, but also kind of weird.
I have had delusions of grandeur about having a property big enough to have miles of gravel road. Even then you think and realize how boring it would get riding the same couple miles over and over again. Having your own golf green with sand trap kinda makes more sense for the rote muscle memory drills.
