Tubless tires on a carbon clincher rim?

Tubless tires on a carbon clincher rim?
I bought a pair of these Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TRs recently, but didn't pay attention that they were tubless ready. will they work on carbon clincher rims? Otherwise, I need to return them.

If you plan on using an inner tube and never going tubeless I would send them back and get the regular clincher. they will be lighter and have more sidewall flex.

This is true. The tubeless versions of any tire have a thicker carcass than the tube type versions. They are heavier as well. If used with a tube, a road tubeless tire will have a harsher ride quality than the tube type version along with the added weight of the inner tube. I ride road tubeless tires on one of my bikes set up tubeless. On my other bikes that don't have tubeless compatible rims I ride the same model tire in a tube type version
