Here's a good article about some of this.

And one of my original threads.
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...nt-p-12-a.html

They are called Schwinn Paramount adjustable sliding stem, double sliding stem, Major Taylor stem.

It is Schwinn branded as is the SP and brake calipers, HS is Schwinn but is not branded, complete wheels are original as is the paint.

This was a huge get for me, price was not bad, it shares my birthday and is the only one I have seen that was/is this original and complete that I could have ever gotten my hands on.

It's the flagship of my Paramount's that currently number at 5.
Thanks for the info, i enjoyed the read. Congrats on the bike!!

I was just in Orlando. Too bad this wasn't a few weeks ago. I would have considered buying them all at the right price. I'd keep the Merckx and Pogliaghi and move the rest on. I love deals like that. The more I look at it, the more I want that Pogliaghi for some reason...maybe it is just to save it from its dust covered, neglected state.

1972 Libertas Mann Road Bike 58cm - $150 (Flagstaff)I’ve had this bike for a few years and rode it sparingly as a townie bike. It’s in good shape. Could probably use a tune as I haven’t ridden it this year. It has downtube shifters which shift by feel so it takes a bit getting used to.

58cm
Shimano components
Shimano Dura-Ace cranks
Shimano Crane derailleur

Nice Bertoni but note the "Matrix" tubing sticker which was changed to (IIRC) "Cromor" when Trek objected to Columbus's use of that name.
So not a top-of-line frame, but if the price is right...
And those (ugh) Biopace rings.

That seems very fair for a like new bike. Chrome looks good. Paint looks mint - possibly refurbished? Rear brake cable needs to be replaced and lengthened. I'd probably buy it if I was local... Good luck!

Can we start the guessing game on the price now? I am gonna start with $8K !!! I love the polishing he had done! Dont know how much he spent on that but worth every penny. I would never be able to buy this though because of the way the front brake cable is routed! LOL!

I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that this bike has been listed, off and on again, for a decade.

As has his Casati, C50, and other bikes, just search for "campagnolo" and you'll see them all

I’d be all over that despite the probably bent fork. Dura Ace black. Crane. Great components and frame is bonus.

I've had worse damage straightened. IIRC tool used was the"Little Brute". I can't make out that much damage on the steerer or down tubes.

Rad 1980’s Tandem Santana Arriva Bike - $300

Rode perfectly when we were last on it…it’s been at least a year.🙃This beauty is just taking up space now, and we’d love another another pair to have fun on it! It’s been hanging under our covered patio out back, so it’s dusty and will need to be shined up. Truly believe it should be operational (who knows, maybe new tubes?) but please understand we are selling as-is. Cash only. Pickup in North Portland.
