Hi I am Don (nursedon). I am glad to have found this forum. I have been in love with bikes ever since I can remember. Every injury that I have had is from a bicycle too: broken ankle, dislocated shoulder, broken big toe, broke left leg, injured scrotum, and etc. Not all from the same accident. Now that I am older and wiser. I still ride but; I stop at red lights, I don't jump into unknown landings, and I don't take unplanned shortcuts between the road and the sidewalk. Currently I have too many bikes to count. I learned how to use the oxy acetylene torch at the community college and now no frame is safe. My garage is full of parts and frames (mostly junk but a couple good ones. I consider it to be a giant lego set. I used to race in the 1990s managed to be a uscf cat 4. There were only 4 categories in 1987. I mostly ride on the road and bike trails. I love road bikes and utilitarian bikes. I recently made a Cycle Pro Oswego into a disc brake expedition bike similar to Thorn and tout terrain. It can use 26 and 700c wheels with drop bars. Pretty heavy and sturdy. I like the book of Handmade bicycles by John Heine and try to make a couple of my bikes similar to the Randonneuring style. I am frugal so I make my own racks etc. I could go on forever. Thanks for letting me join.
