Brake levers to replace Shimano 600 AX levers

I'm looking to replace these levers that have hoods that are impossible to find. What would be a good
replacement preferably one that hoods are easier to find especially white hoods?

Shimano 600 BL6401. The hoods are still available from Ebay at $7.99 a pair:

White hoods are tough. cycling_colorsfrance sells white hoods for a couple of lever types on eBay, I know they will fit first gen DA non aero levers.
Replacement Campy/Modolo hoods come up every now and then but not always for aero levers.
If you can deal with black the only hoods generally available all of the time are for Shimano 6403/BL-R600 levers.
The 6401’s above will only fit that model (gray lever blades) and I suspect that once gone they won’t be available again. Sounds like someone found a cache of them.

This looks nice and in my opinion not very expensive.

In 2021, classic/vintage aficionados began selecting brake levers to match the hoods they could scarcely source.

I predict, in 2023, these folks will turn away from road bikes altogether and start another fixie craze due to the impossibility of finding any hoods at all. Hacksaws will then be hard to find, what with all the drewing.

Perhaps I am one of the few that almost never ride on the hoods. Tops, and corners and flats leading to levers, but hoods very seldom and really only then to “try a new position” as that position is so favored here. Perhaps that is because I was weened on a SuperSport with plastic bar tape and no hoods. Even today, I only have thicker padded tape on a couple bikes, and prefer the Newbaums cotton. If hoods don’t fit, I run them naked with a wrap of cotton like the old Schwinn plastic. Neanderthal I guess.
