Show me your Pedals
I am curious what pedal set up most people are running. I tried using the Forte ATB pedal with the Power Grip strap but get into the strap is a pain at times. (mostly when you are trying to hurry) Now, without the strap, I find the pedal is a little too small for the boots I am using. So what's you winter set up look like?

Wellgo WPD-823, these are my first set of clipless pedals for my fixed gear and I absolutely love them. I can't compare them to any clipless pedals but I feel like they are a good and will continue to use them until they break.

one problem with bebop pedals seems to be how easily the pedal body wears out. seems to use a cheaper and softer steel when compared to what other pedals use.

Are you talking about old BeBops or after VPOne bought the company? I have heard that the original system had quite a few bugaboos. I have only used the VPOne version of the pedals. I get about 5000 miles out of my left cleat and 8000 out of the right (usually put my left foot down). I'm still on my original pedals and about to break 15,000 miles for the year; still going strong.
If I didn't need the float, I would be all over Crank Brothers, though.

I'm actually surprised to see your pedals have the black paint on the top. Mine is all worn out there and I don't have nearly as many miles on the cleats or pedals as you have.

I picked up a used set of VPOne Bebops which were alleged to have under 500 miles on pedals and cleats, and wore out the left cleat with 2000 of my own miles.
I average getting in and out on the left side more than once a mile (most of the mileage is on my 12 mile commute with 10 stop signs and 24 traffic lights of which only one is a right turn and about 10 were red the ride I counted) so your mileage may vary.

It's a trick of the lighting. The engagement and contact points are well-polished. I also lube the cleats and pedals once per week with dry lube. I think that has helped cleat life a bit and it certainly keeps the float icy-smooth.

you can tell it's worn out when you can clip in the shoe with your hand and yank it off, as opposed to twisting it off, with your hands.

I use M324 platform/SPDs in the winter months on my MTB commuter and XT SPDs the rest of the year. DA SPD-SLs on my road bike, which I use occasionally for commuting, but mainly for weekend rides.

crank brother's pedals also have a problem with their spindle design, which causes them to snap on hard impacts, unlike other pedals.
