Trek 29er BSO

Today I got this this trek 29er BSO from the local thrift store for free. Had to clean and strip some rattle can paint to figure out what it was and what the components are. Everything worked good and seemed to be in order except for a missing pedal pumped up the tires put pedals on it and took it for a test ride rides ok but a bit to small. Now any idea what year what model is it and what to do with it finish cleaning stripping the paint make it look nice and give it back to the thrift store, leave it pretty much as is and use it as second clinker challenge bike or strip it for the better parts?
