Hi all,
Gary here from San Francisco. I'm doing some short rides <25 miles now to get back into shape. My favorite rides are: Tiburon loop, Mt.Tam (road and dirt), Canada road to Palo Alto. I used to love to hop on my bike, head across the GG bridge and just ride.
cheers.

Thanks for the welcome Henry. I am tempted to go on the Labor day ride with you all but at this point I know I won't be able to stay on the saddle for 55 miles. How often does the group get together to ride?

Hi folks.
Chris from SF. Started riding last summer, but had to take fall and winter off due to extreme lack of bike, heh. Finished building my new ride up a couple of weeks ago, so I should be seeing some of you out on the road. Once I get my base back, I'll probably be looking for some rides to jump into
I work in Cupertino, and take caltrain sometimes (hopefully more as the weather gets a little nicer), so if there are any bike car alumni on here, we probably have met.
I'm riding a Kestrel 200sc at the moment, with Campy bits and Rol Volant round things.

Hey Big truck, welcome. I'll probably run into you riding through the park at some point. What bike do you have? Maybe for your first century you might consider the Santa Rosa Wine ride in May. Its pretty flat and a beautiful time of year. We do it every year. I do the 200K and meet up with my better half for 100k. She's not as insane as me...just a little bit

I have Green Specialized Sequoia, After reading all the posts here I thought it best not to spend too much on my first road bike , But hey it does me fine. I ride in around the park all the time mainly in the mornings
and sometimes go over GG Bridge and do parts of the Tiburon Loop or I go out the other way Skyline drive etc, If you see me give me shout , love to have a chat etc as being new in the City and new to biking I do not know many people that ride so I'm very much a solo rider but that does not bother me at all
Is this the ride you mentioned ??

Cheers

Hi,
I'm Jeff and live in Sebastopol, I just recently have been on this forum. I noticed most of you on this thread are roadies. I ride both. I like to ride the west sonoma county roads for road rides and mostly Annadel for dirt. I haven't done any orginized rides in a few years. Maybe I should do the Wine Country Century this year.

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to the forum. Yea, a bunch of us are roadies, but you'll find that most of us (except for me) ride both, road and mtn bike. Wine Country is a great ride to get back into it. Santa Rosa Bike Club does an excellent job. Maybe we'll see you on one of the BF rides. Don't be a stranger.

Jeff, check in at the West County Revolution bike shop. Jest east of down town on hwy 12. Or near Koffee Katz. Or just off the Joe Redota Trail. They lead rides from there.
Also if you join the Santa Rosa club and volunteer at the WCC you get to ride it for free and no problem with reservations.

I went in there the other day to get a helmet for my daughter. It seems like a nice shop. It's great to have something local.
I commute to work and my GF's house in santa rosa when the weather is decent on the Rodota trail. Seems that is most of my road riding these days. Hopefully that will change as spring gets here. I was thinking of doing one of the rides from West County Revolution bike shop. Looks like this week's weather will keep me off my bike. I should buy some fenders.

Hahaha, I didn't even think of that, I thought it was something specific to bikes. I'd come up with some pretty entertaining possiblities but they were all pretty wide of the mark

Riding is my addiction
Hello... John here. I've been on bike forums for a while but for some reason never visited NorCal until recently. I live in Alameda and ride pretty regularly with Team Alameda. Also bike to BART most days (when it's not raining) and do a one way commute to Pleasanton a couple of times a week to get that mid-week ride/fix. Oh I'm 58 been riding quite a bit for only the last year or so, don't know what took me so long to find a great sport like cycling. Guess I'm a late bloomer.
