Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Let's see your holiday gifts

Though I tend to buy my own bike stuff, my wife always comes up with gifts that I never thought of. Let's see what you received. My haul below (pic of bike included so I can display my new stand!)

Plane ticket to Belgium, Acer netbook, Interactive roadID.

I gave my dad a Pinarello. 2.5 hours later and he's still staring at it. She sure is perdy. Pics later.

Some Giro Manaco LF gloves M, LG HeatMaxX Arm warmers but they are in XL instead of M. I guess I will have to wait a few days to make that exchange. Sock guy socks and Look Keo Easy clipless pedals. I bought LG road shoes, LG leg warmers, Pearl Isumi Ear warmer, LG Beanie Cap, Blackburn Delphi 3.0 Computer about a week or two ago. Finally I am getting a specialized Allez 2mro^_^ More pictures to come.

Got a hi-vis trunk bag and a Niterider light, and we'll see at the relatives later (not holding my breath...)
most of my stuff wasn't cycling related...which is fine, I'm picky.

I gifted a Topeak Mountain Morph to my dad. I thought he'd like the higher volume versus the Road Morph G that I have.

Money to race the Greenville Spring Series In February/March.

But seeing my girls get what they wanted was better. We were worried this year. Things have gotten pretty bad but we were blessed.

Actually my oldest daughter wrote my wife and I coupons to do things for us: Wash the cars, cut the grass, clean the house, watch our youngest while we go out, clean my bike gear, etc. My youngest had some extra cash and bought me a 4pack of RedBulls. Ha. I love my kids.
