don't really need it -- box end is cheaper, and just got a trixie tool which has it built in. which reminds me -- how come every bike tool has a bottle opener built in? is that really necessary? like you couldn't just use the edge of the wrench, or any other hard metal tool? those sharp edges make me worried it'll poke through my bag.

Bottle opener is unnecessary. Miller High Life twists off.

Poland Springs seltzer does too. Sometimes I want to start drinking again just so I can pop off bottle tops with a lighter.

I think it's a cool idea as a emergency backup deal. There were several times when I would leave the house with only a U-mini in my back pocket. $15, maybe. $35, I'm not sure. I don't think it solves $35 worth of problems for most people.

This is what I use:

$13 and it has a lifetime, no questions asked warranty. I change gears several times day at the track. The ratchet makes things just a little bit easier.

Woah that's pretty clever

But $35 is a tad bit excessive when I can buy a used 15mm wrench for $1 tops at garage sales and flea markets

On the other hand we should suggest this to kryptonite or on guard so they can make it standard.

Oh yea, that's exactly what we want, a more expensive Kryptonite lock with a quite useless socket...

Well ingersoll rand (conglomerate who owns krypto) can manage to do it with only some minimal tweeks to the current evo design.... just imagine the metal casing closest to the lock shackle (black non orange rubber covered side) being elongated a bit and then a socket hole CNC'd into it instead of the current circle that is plugged with black rubber.... this feature could come with the next generation around the same price as the current evo's whose price would fall

I'm not sure if the price would drop, they might even buy the patten of that socket and introduce a new line of locks with a socket for the fixed gear riders. Price might go higher for the "improved" feature of the new generation of Kryptonite locks.
