Step through Armstrong in good shape
It looks clean, but it has the SC3 hub, if that's a problem.

I am having the same issue with 53/54 cm bikes. A couple of years ago, I was seriously looking for a bike and there were not many of that size that I was interested in. It seems like since spring of covid there have been a plethora of very fine bikes available in that size category, including some fantastic buys. I am not in the market, so I guess I should quit looking. Or maybe sell off a few and get something different, which I do not need to do. At this point, I am trying to stick to needs instead of wants. Of course, sometimes that line gets pretty fuzzy and mentally confusing. ;
That's the thing about having crowdsourced picture goodies from all over with potential volunteers willing to liason the postage from point A to B. Channeling Smeagol; ... "the pain! burnses, it does". Isn't your 20" a fairly common size though, in terms of the bell curve? You're right about buying for needs over wants. Anything i do want I want to try, not hermetically seal and hang it over the mantle on display. In other words, not interesting in collecting. The needs come first, then only after trying the bike(s) out can we really know if we want it or not.

Hmmm. I could ride that, but would it be a good ride? Before coming on to BF I'd never heard of Rodriguez before.

Early Jim Redcay with Campagnolo dropouts and fork ends. Components looks to be all original with the exception of the front derailleur which is early to mid 80's. Sugino 171mm Mighty Tour crankset with half step gearing and 34tooth granny gear, 5 speed freewheel, Suntour Cyclone derailleurs, Dura Ace shifters, hubs and headset, Super Champion rims, and Gran Compe brakes, SR Royal seat post and stem and Sr Custom bars. Wheels are 27" and tires are showing their age. I ran it for a while with 700's but needed to switch rear brake to a longer reach brake. I caught the derailleur in the spokes and damaged the dropout which was just replaced by Toby Stanton of Hot Tubes with a NOS campy dropout. Some corrosion/touch ups along top tube at cable guides and under brake cable and rattle can touch up at rear drop out but otherwise paint looks pretty good.

Can't facilitate, but it looks like I've already done enough damage. Glad it's going to a good home. Enjoy!

Thanks, man. You did your part in facilitating. Wouldn't have noticed this one if not for your post. Been looking around the midwest for a Le Champion for awhile.

Hmmm. Hard to say Merz. It's in Alabama! I'm more of a utility rider. Not sure what I'd do with a collectible road bike like this Rod. Probably really finely made and all that. I'd say I'm more of a touring bike / mountain bike hauler kind of guy. I've always wanted to try a Titanium road though. I've only ever seen one up here (a litespeed). No rusting, or even paint to scratch and resilient metal are all nice features to have on a bike.

I would be all in at that price if it was here but it wouldn't be that price if it were.
No real expert but Rodriguez's are very fine bikes, this one appears to be a full custom and I would expect it to ride fantastic.
