It's not longer an argument. It's a political position. Reason is irrelevant.

A position I don’t think he actually believes, but whatever.

Have you ever watched DF rider ride??? Their head is hanging down most of the time.

Nope, never seen a DF rider ride. In almost 40 years of riding DFs over hundreds of thousands of miles I've never seen one.

Yes. I’ve even seen photos of me riding with my head up. In fact, I’ve never seen a photo of me riding with my head down. Even in photos that I didn’t know were being taken.

Long passed time for me to 86 your posts.

That’s because you ride with your head down.

24% of threads get locked by the 1% who run this forum but 10% of those threads are junk threads but the other 90% needs to be heard so I propose that the 1% stop locking the 90% of threads that need to be read by the 99%. Also these threads are just too big if we need to break down these threads for 99% of the people they would be easier to read as some of us don't have 99% of the vision we used to have.

I thought there wasn’t going to be any math on this thread.

You should start a thread for pictures of DF riders with their heads up.

Believe it or not, he used to be worse. But you're right, he's been beating the same dead horse for years.

If our heads are always hanging down, why aren't we always crashing into things?

How about one where I have my head almost down? Not quite staring at the front wheel, though. The others are all up.

Are you willing to admit this is true?
Nope, they're far less adaptable for street usage generally. Bents are generally too low, and they're not good on hills. In most places that aren't Nebraska, encountering only flat streets is not the norm. Streets are where most adults ride. There's a reason DF bikes are everywhere and bents are generally found on MUPs only.

Bents are a fine niche product, but that's all they ever will be.

As to the 1890 thing, you realize that's a completely stupid thing to say, right? The wheel is a much more ancient design, should we replace it just because it's old? We don't because it was engineered so well for its purpose that its adaptation to all sorts of usages is nearly infinite. The same is true for the DF design.

And the view thing is just stupid. Virtually nobody rides an upright bike in the manner you describe.

No idea why you can't figure out you lose every time you cast this as DF vs. bents. It isn't a competition, and if it was, sales figures make it clear which one won it decades ago.
