BB creak is an issue with many Cervelo's BBs (although by no means limited to just them) - and paying $90 for a 1-piece BB is the solution.
Unlike Hambini's nonsense where everything QC-related about a bike begins and ends with BB specs, that BB, along with the tubing of the bike, contributes to the most amazing stiffness and responsiveness of any bike i have ridden. It's like pushing off a wall. So I'll happily pay $90 if if occurs and enjoy the other benefits of that bike's tubing and design.
I plan to buy an Aspero soon: even though my preference would be for a different brand, just for variety, the amazing ride quality of the R5 has me hooked.

As long as we're showing off awesome Cervelos.

It's a P2, rebuilt with Di2, a Quarq, Rotor aero rings, Hed Jets, and just lots of goodness all around. I was fit on it by one of the best tri fitters in the country, and in aero with room to run it is outstanding. More comfortable than any road bike I've ever ridden. Still don't love it in town or with twisties though.

I don't know what "quality issues" they had in mind, if it's not more specific than that I'd consider it BS personally. There are a lot of reasons that shop might not sell Cervelos anymore, and they want your money, they don't want you to go spend it at another shop that has a C3 for you.

I was a bit surprised, as I tend to see a fair number of Cervelo bikes in FL. I should have asked specifically what the quality issues were, but will look into other bike shops that will sell and service.
My Domane has the infamous BB90 bracket, which finally needed replacement after 10,000 miles. In the grand scheme of things, it wasn’t expensive to have replaced ( though I do know of more severe issues with the Madone).
I’m going to keep Cervelo on my list, and take several models for a ride. Perhaps the C3 is too close to the Domane, and maybe I need something a little tighter for the mountains of VA.
Too many choices - I really need to cull the herd......

Given that you have a similar bike, I'd be more interested in an R5 Disc. But it really depends what you want to do with it. There are a lot of fantastic bikes out there from a lot of great companies. I like Cervelos personally because of how they handle.

I’m very happy with my R3 and it’s Hambini racing BB.
During my installation, Hambini’s customer service was second to none!

I'd be pretty wary of any mob owned by a private equity firm.

What a totally ignorant statement. As someone has been in senior management at a company owned by the “evil” Bain, I can state with authority that the best thing that ever happened to our company was being majority owned by them. We were made more efficient, offered better quality products and increased our market value, all without massive cuts in staff.
I’d take private equity over publicly traded any day. With PE, you can execute on a long term strategy rather than having your CEO change directions based on the “market” and shareholder whims.
OP- buy an R3, you won’t regret it

I worked for a CF framebuilder for almost 6 years(I did mainly CF repair work) and only saw one Cervelo that needed a repair that wasn't the result of a wreck.
Luescher is a tool that looks for problems, in order to boost his business(and ego). Talk to a few CF framebuilders, and ask what they think of the guy.

High on my list are Giant Defy 0 (essentially an upgrade cause I have one), Bianchi Infinito, or Cervelo for VA. I like the R3.....
Domane or S Works for FL.....

I’m trying! The shop that sent the notice is Conti Bikes in DC. There are not a lot of others close by. I’m currently at my residence in FL and may go to Ocala this week.

i ordered my C2 from competitive cyclist, and it came set up perfectly as well. I live in the Hampton roads area and when I was first interested in Cervélo, I contacted them for a dealer and they pointed me to Contes. They didn’t have any in stock at the time and usually don’t keep them in stock. Just thought I would share.

That's funny - I, the Minnesotan, was looking at Conte's for Cervelo, too, just to see one in the flesh. I was in Williamsburg in December when I was pondering the purchase. A quick online search of their inventory showed that they didn't have anything in stock at any of the stores within reasonable driving distance.

I refuse to watch almost anything except music videos on youtube, mostly because I want no part of paying into that clickbait culture.
My favorite is when the H****** defenders insist everyone has to watch through his videos and respond to them. Disgraceful.

I am no where near as experienced with the myriad of bikes out there like some others may be, but I really enjoy my C3. It's a few years old and although I don't have as many kms on it as I would like it rides great and I have never had any issues with it. For what its worth the shop I purchased it from also sells Trek, Specialized, Cannondale among many other brands and would claim Cervelo is of higher quality than the offerings from a lot of other brands.
