Anyone familiar with this paint decal?
This is on my 1996 Columbus Genius Guerciotti. Does anyone know what is means besides who painted the bike? It seems like there were a lot of pearl paint jobs on EL/ EL-OS/ Genius bikes back then. Does it say anything about who built the frame? It is very nicely done TIG welding.

He was/is a painter of high end Italian production and custom bikes. The mica pearl just describes the content of the paint finish but says nothing about the builder of the frame.

Carlo Dossena's shop was located in the Seguro neighborhood of Settimo Milanese. The business is actually still in the same neighborhood (Via Curtatone, 5, 20019 Settimo Milanese (MI)), even though Carlo is probably retired by now (being 76 years old). The business is now run by Laura Dossena, who I assume is his daughter - VERNICIATURA DOCAR | Verniciatura professionale telai bici.
Carlo started out as a painter for Alfa Romeo in 1961 and struck out on his own in the 80s, painting bikes. If you look through comments on Italian bike forums, you'll find he was a well regarded painter, with prices that were generally on the higher end of the spectrum (apparently in the same range as Pelizzoli). He also did resprays for a number of racing teams back in the day.

I believe the Swiss Titan bikes from the 80's were also painted by that company.
And the paintjobs were one of the main features of the bikes with them done in all sorts of fade and hatch patterns in many many colors.

I'm quite familiar with his work on Guerciotti's. Well-regarded.
He often painted over a pearl base, and this brought out the colors he used.
He did the same scheme, on black, but while it looks really good close up, lacks the snap from any distance. Quite possibly intended that way.
I gave one of the Guericiotti's to be wall art for my lady.
When I bought it, the seller insisted I buy a hard case to ship it in, or it would be a deal-breaker.
I complied and am glad I did, as I've used the same case to ship another wall art bike.
A glimpse:
It now has an 80mm Guerciotti/3TTT stem, and a white Bontrager Ajna saddle. And is cleaned up.
100 mm stem is still for sale.
Carlo Dossena decal is at the base of the seat tube.
