Addiction 2023.2

Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

At one of the horse ranch parties I went to BITD I wandered into a barn where a bunch of jockeys were hangin' out drinkin' JD and RMOT: (weird feeling when you're 5'8" on a good day)

Up before the sun, so I made a proper pre-ride breakfast. Hope it digests pretty over 45 mins of getting dressed and driving to the start.

Been thinking more about this, and while I doubt it is the original cause of the problem, it could be a contributing factor.

My left knee has gotten puffy to the point where I can't fully straighten my leg out like the other one does. It might be impacting the way I walk and put weight on my legs.

I think I need to contact the dreaded witch doctor.

Oh, he can handle the bike. I'm waiting to see if he has a chainstay left, after grinding trail debris through the 1/2 millimeter gap all day.

Slow morning, everyone must be watching the replay of the Pirates 14-7 drubbing of the Mets.

I slept in until 11.

Just back from riding, now to check out some onboard live-streams. Looks like we're in full course yellow right now, I best hit the showers.

I was in Le Mans in 2018 but my experience was limited to the area around the train station as I waited to travel to my final destination. I was there for unspecified reasons to do undisclosed activities. Picture to follow.

Oooh, found a live stream that's not onboard-only. I'm not sure what language yet. Weird Italians? Portuguese? Basque?

The skies have opened up. One of the presenters says "Eeeeeee" when a car gets sideways, it's pretty funny.

Unfortunately that stream got shut down apparently.
On a British stream now...

Nothing is more interesting than a 24 hour race presented in Portuguese.

Some of the Portuguese presenters seemed excited about a Peugeot leading the race, as am I. They have the most badass headlamps so they deserve to win
