Fuji (not sure the year/model)

Hi - I came across this local pickup in my area - I couldn't figure out the model or year, but looks in good shape overall, asking 200, can prob get him down.

Any idea what this is and if it's a good deal?

Thanks!

I don’t have time at the moment but you can easily find vintage Fuji catalogs online.

Appreciate it though

five-piece steel solid axle hubs

steel wheel rims

suggest to keep looking; there has got to be something better out there waiting for you!

The bike looks to be in good shape, but does not appear to be at the higher end of the Fuji range. $200 seems high, but on the other hand, the saddle alone would probably net $40 on this forum.

I'm going to agree on the $60 (USD), but I also think that bike can sell at $125.

That is an entry level bike, very nice for what it is and better than most for its level and price point given the time period. I would look for a bike that has a derailleur hanger.

I would look for tubing decals, like Champion no. 1 or 2, Reynolds 531, Triple Spline, Valite, more than I would a specific brand. I would stay away from Hi-ten, those can be good also but are heavyweights.

Do you plan on using a rack and or fenders? Big tires? Are you going to update parts?

Is it really a Fuji? The font on the downtube and seat tube decals look wrong, and the seat tube lettering is usually oriented vertically with this branding. Also, is that a Shogun logo on the seat stay cap? It looks like someone put some time into this bike, but I would not pay $200 for it.

Whatever it is it is in clean shape. Is it worth $200.00? Not to me it isn't. But you can look at it this way, what will that amount of money buy you in your area? And I mean new and/or used. I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a bike with better components and a lighter frame for $200.00, And for $200.00 I don't think you'll be able to find much new that would be any better, but I don't really shop for such as that.

The one thing you said is you think you can get it for less. You could "get him down", as you put it. I think sellers know that and sometimes inflate their prices to account for that. If I were you I'd go after a bike that I actually know what it is, the year, the model, etc. And then see what sort of deal you can manage.

It is a good deal if what you are looking for is a vintage road bike that has not been abused.

Take it for a test ride to see if you enjoy riding it.
