Where to Buy Parts?
I want to buy a new cassette. I don't need it now, but I want a particular cassette when the time comes (11 speed SRAM 11-28). Up to this point, I've always bought everything through my LBS. Was in this week asking if I could buy one now to have on hand, and they don't have one. Where should I get one? Have my LBS order one for me? Buy over the internet? If the latter, are there any sites you would recommend to buy from? Longer run, I'm also thinking about buying chains, tires, and other parts I can replace myself. I'm very much a novice when it comes to bike maintenance. My attitude when I bought my bike was, I'll ride it and let the LBS maintain it, but that has proven inconvenient at times. Short question: where should I buy parts for my bike? Can you recommend specific internet sellers that are reliable?

@Random11 i always go to ebay, myself. i look at sellers' star ratings and check out the reviews for comments. plenty of reliable sellers there that specialize in selling bike parts, and i'm usually able to find what i'm after. it might be the shopping mall of internet purchasing, but i'd rather go there than amazon and support a certain person/corporation.
i'd love to support more local business, but my favorite privately owned shop closed because of the bike shop chains. and, the chains' prices are simply too rich for my blood.
now, if you really appreciate your local shop, then yeah.. have them order for you. at least there you can get personal attention and support your community jobs

Jenson, Nashbar/Performance, REI, Amazon. If you don't mind international try Wiggle and Ribble in the UK (and yes those names are real).

Thanks, Bill. I did Google and saw lots of possibilities. But, I hadn't heard of many of them and don't want to deal with an unreliable vendor. Is there one (or a few) you would recommend? Thanks to others who have offered suggestions.

I like Universal. Not always the absolute lowest price but they typically have good stock and the website is easy to use. Kinda high threshold for free shipping $150, but even orders not meeting the threshold have reasonable shipping. I recently got a handlebar and front derailleur and shipping was $6.70.
Looks like they're out of the PG1130 though, so you'd have to spring for the PG1170 at the moment

You forgot the most important key word... RED.
Many UK businesses were doing big business shipping misc parts to the USA, but several manufacturers including SRAM and Shimano tried to put an end to that.
As above, I tend to do an internet search. On occasion I'll purchase similar items on E-Bay, both new and used, but one must be very careful when purchasing used "wear" items on E-Bay.

I've used Cambria Bikes a couple of times lately and have been happy with them. They sell cable housing by the foot, for example.

Do a google search and buy from whomever has the best price plus shipping at the time you are ready to pull the trigger.
You'll find the best price on name brand Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo and quite a few other popular makers of bicycle components won't be at eBay or Amazon.
JensonUSA and UniversalCycles are some of the online retailers I've used recently and long in the past. BikeCloset for tires.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. Very Helpful! I've only bought from my LBS in the past and don't want a bad experience in my first foray beyond that.
