Mystery stealth bike
someone local to me is selling this, but its previous owner has painted it stealth black......
has the look of a Dahon to me mebs ? Any suggestions though

It looks similar to an older Dahon Speed, from back when it needed an aftermarket rear derailleur hanger in order to use anything other than the stock "Neos" RD. It might still have something with identifying marks (handlebar clamp, etc).
Pssst! Fnhon Storm frameset is the same as the newest Dahon Speed (except that the fork is aluminum). Typically around $160 before shipping cost.

ahh thanks for this. The Fnhon is new since I was last really active on this forum. It looks really cool, but getting it shipped to UK/Portugal is gona be expensive. Which is just as well, I have a mezzo airnimal and dahon curve and that is probably sufficient. But......

I myself prefer rim brakes over disc given a choice. But I sense that you are really, really anti-disc with QR to an extent that even I am not. I mean, sure thru-axle can be better, but QR is far from bad. Mind sharing your thoughts on the subject?

QR-disc is crap compared to the trustworthiness of V-brakes. Disc brakes work very well, but, in order to enjoy having them, the axle needs to be locked into the dropout.
In the scenario of QR-disc, there's only a QR-skewer to keep the caliper and the rotor aligned. Disc brakes are powerful enough to yank on the QR-skewer and along with it comes the rotor. Just a micro amount of movement throws off the alignment of the rotor with the caliper, resulting in a loud SQUEALing noise. The thru-axle is a simple mechanical solution to the problem and it works perfectly. There is no downside to having it, so, why do we see any new bicycles with QR-disc instead of thru-axle?
QR-disc needs to go away! Give me the option to use V-brakes, please!
