sometimes it is nice to just cruise the flat cornfields around here, but other times it is fun to get on a roller coaster.....

Brimfield-Jubilee road, for anyone curious.

Same Pass, different years and bikes. One of my favorite open road views.

Empty road, vanishing point perspective, is to the cyclist what a carrot on a stick is to a donkey. Kudos to northbend for this thread and no disrespect intended to the donkey, a relatively rational being.

Not exactly empty but I got this shot heading south on the 405 on a trip to Home Depot for some wet patch for my roof...its been a long time since I could cruise at 85 in the slower lanes or any lanes for that matter at 330 on a Friday.
Best, Ben

When was the last time anyone could do 85 on a Friday at 330 on the 405?

Cedar Lake bike trail and Burlington Northern railroad tracks in Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood. The Minnesota Twins baseball stadium can be seen in the background.

Gateway trail on the way to Stillwater Minnesota.

Bike trail Railway split along the Mighty Mississip in North East Minneapolis.

Bridge connecting Boom Island to Nicollet Island near Downtown Minneapolis.

Just thought I’d add this one for fun. It’s along the Browns Creek bike trail on the way to Stillwater Minnesota. This is the oldest stone arch bridge in Minnesota. It was built over Browns creek in Stillwater Township and opened in 1865. Known as the Point Douglas—Saint Louis River bridge, it was a piece of the old Point Douglas to Superior Military Road. It’s been abandoned now for ages and is surrounded by thick forest. It may not stretch to the horizon but that road is empty.

Calgary-Vancouver bike tour. This was taken on the Old Kamloops Highway 5A I believe. Nothing like riding in 35° c weather with an open road to yourself.

I took a gloriously beautiful 30-mile ride on Tuesday. I ended up on a trail unexpectedly. You can see the Catskill mountains in the distance.

Do it! The rides I've been taking in the last couple of weeks have been magical. Just what the doctor ordered for restored health.
